Na pozornici leže čovjek i štap. U pozadini treperi veliki ravni ekran. Na ekranu piše “ČOVJEK / ŠTAP”, kao da želi razjasniti svaku sumnju u ono što nam je upravo pred očima.
Ovo nije priča. Ne postoji narativ.
Ali s vremenom, Čovjek i Štap zajedno prolaze kroz oblike, i pojavljuje se određena samostalnost. Cijelo to vrijeme, televizor nam govori što da vidimo.
Ne volimo da nam stalno govore što da vidimo, ali kako sada možemo vidjeti išta drugo?
Stickman je u svojoj suštini djelo o igri sa smislom i percepcijom.

Darragh McLoughlin
Rođen 1987. godine, Darragh je odrastao u West Corku u Irskoj. Najmlađi je od troje djece i sin dvoje profesionalnih kuhara. Godine 2006. završio je cjelogodišnji program u žonglerskoj školi Jonglier Katakomben. Cirkusku edukaciju završio je na ACAPA-i, gdje je 2012. diplomirao s titulom Bachelor of Circus Arts. Laureat je circusnext edicije 2013. godine. Autor je predstava Fragments d’un esprit, The Whistle, Stickman i For as Long as We’re Here. Trenutno živi u Berlinu sa svojom partnericom i sinom.

DARRAGH MCLOUGHLIN (IR): STICKMAN

On stage lays a man and a stick. In the background, a large flat-screen TV flickers. The TV reads “MAN / STICK”, as if to clear up any doubt as to what is right in front of us. This is not a story. There is no narrative. But over time, the Man and the Stick pass through forms together, and a certain independence emerges. All the while, the TV tells us what to see. We don’t like being told what to see all the time, but now how can we see anything else?
Stickman is essentially a piece about playing with sense and perception.

Darragh McLoughlin
Born in 1987, Darragh grew up in West Cork, Ireland. He is the youngest of three siblings and the son of two professional chefs. In 2006, he completed a full-time program at the Jonglier Katakomben juggling school. Darragh completed her circus training at ACAPA with a Bachelor of Circus Arts degree in 2012. Circusnext laureate in 2013. Author of the shows “Fragments d’un esprit”, “The Whistle”, “Stickman” and “For as Long as We’re Here”. Currently based in Berlin, he lives with his partner and son.
